Vision Literacy

Volunteer tutors are needed to teach adults over the age of 16 how to read, write, use the computer, usr the library and balance a checkbook. The adults are conversant in English and have literacy skills at or below high school level. They are motivated to learn because they want to improve their job situation, help their children with schoolwork or realize another benefit.

Requirements

No experience is necessary, the organization provides an orientation and a training class.

Schedule

There is a committment of at least six months for two hours once or twice a week.

The tutoring sessions can occur at a time and public location that is convenient for both the tutor
