Volunteer work with middle school children in a garden as a way of teaching about science and food. The garden grows a wide variety of seasonal produce and volunteers seed, grow, harvest, and rotate crops with new groups of students each year.
Volunteers must be certified to work with public school children before beginning their commitment. All volunteers must commit to at least 16 weeks.
Most volunteers spend an hour and a half each week working alongside students in either the kitchen or garden. They also have Wednesday Weeders who work from 2:30pm to 4:30pm on Wednesday afternoons to assist with garden tasks and maintenance.
