Baylands Birding
We enjoyed a leisurely walk along the sloughs, San Francisquito Creek and the marshlands of Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve, a major migratory flyway for birds. We saw and learned about the habits of American avocets, black-necked stilts, snowy egrets, northern shovelers, ruddy ducks, canvasbacks, marbled godwits, northern harriers, many types of gulls and more. We ended the day with a social picnic lunch by the bay. This special program was hosted in partnership with Valley Water.
