During this seminar, you will learn about the importance of sugar, how to read food labels to accurately monitor your sugar intake and the science behind sugar cravings so you can control them when there are lots of pies and other sweets during this holiday season. Friendly visitors program is dedicating one hour per week to visiting one senior living in a long term care facility. These visits help reduce the residents feelings of loneliness and improve the quality of their lives.
Opportunities include (1) Physician Office Visitation Program: make sure CCFA materials are available in physician offices. Requires regular visits to approximately 3 to 4 physician offices. (2) General Clerical Work: light office work, including stuffing envelopes and computer work, can be as needed or on a regular basis. (3) Education: planning seminars, securing speakers for seminars and seminar publicity. (4) Special Events Committee:help to plan and prepare for the variety of special events throughout the year. (5) Support Group Facilitators

The goal of the Living Center is to promote the optimum health and well being of people living with HIV/AIDS, and to educate the community about the disease. Living Center volunteers are needed to help lead fun as well as informational workshops to clients. Volunteers are needed to teach workshops on any health and wellness topic.
Hearts and Minds Activity Center is the only dementia-specific adult daycare program in Santa Clara County. Caring for loved ones takes a community. Volunteers work with the regular staff during all the activities in which clients are engaged, in both small and large group settings.
