El Sereno Open Space Preserve
This preserve is over 1400 acres with over seven miles of dirt trails that are open to hikers, bicycles and horses but not dogs. The land is primarily chaparral with some wooded areas near the creeks. Wildlife includes deer, coyote, and brush rabbits.
Requirements
Dogs must be on a leash.
Operating Hours
Preserves are open a half hour before sunrise until a half hour after sunset.

There is a paved six car parking lot that is wheelchair accessible and it requires a permit. Email permits@openspace.org or call (650) 691-1200 for access.

Directions
At the end of Montevina Road. For directions: From Interstate 280, exit CA 17 south. Drive south to the Alma Bridge, Bear Creek Road exit. At the base of the exit ramp, follow the signs for Montevina Road. Drive about 0.5 mile on the road parallel to 17, past Black Road, then follow Montevina uphill. Drive carefully on narrow and winding Montevina Road, about 3.5 miles to a pullout at the end of the road. There is a paved six car parking lot and a turnout with limited parking.
