Event 7 Coyote Creek Volunteer Cleanup Day

Help keep Coyote Creek watershed clean for our local wildlife and drinking water by joining our FREE Coyote Creek Volunteer Clean Up Day at Hellyer County Park! Coyote Creek watershed is an important water source for rare plants that grow on serpentine soils and steelhead trout that mate in its waterways. All activities will be standing up and supplies and tools are provided in addition to snacks, lunch and a bottle of water. This program is hosted in partnership with Valley Water.

Hike 19 Snowy Plovers and Burrowing Owls of Shoreline Nature Area

This leisurely walk is led by an expert birder who will teach us about the burrowing owls and snowy plovers that make their home at the Stevens Creek Shoreline Nature Area. Socialize during a group picnic lunch at the end of the hike. Binoculars can be borrowed. This special program is hosted in partnership with Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District. Event 5 Don Edwards Habitat Restoration Day

Join other BAO members for this FREE social and environmental volunteering event to help restore the wetlands for the vital birds, insects and mammals that live by the bay! Help with raking and mulching to prepare the area for native plants and planting. All activities will be standing up and supplies, tools, snacks and bottled water are provided. At the end of our hard work, we will have an included social lunch. This program is hosted in partnership with Valley Water and San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory.

Hike 20 Aromatic Plants & Western Pygmy Blue Butterfly

On our leisurely, flat walk along the bay, we will learn about the history of Ravenswood Preserve and aromatic plants, birds and mammals that make their home in the wetlands of this preserve. We may even see the migrating Western Pygmy Blue butterfly! We end the day with a social picnic lunch. This special program is hosted in partnership with Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District.
