Stevens Creek Nature Hike and Picnic
Bay Area Older Adults is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that promotes the health and well–being of adults age 50+ through education, outreach and Healthy Living™ programs. Join us for an educational hike around the 92–acre Stevens Creek County Reservoir, the location of Santa Clara County’s first park (circa 1924). Half of the terrain is flat and the rest is moderate hills through a mostly shaded area with Sycamore, Cottonwood and Big–leaf Maple trees, flowering plants and views of the peaceful water.
We start at the south end of the Stevens Creek Reservoir and travel the two–mile Tony Look trail to the north end of the reservoir. We will learn about the history of the park, and its riparian habitat, natural flora and fauna. Once we reach the northern end, we eat lunch at the Bay Tree picnic area. After lunch, you can choose to hop in the van for a ride back to your car or travel back along the same path.
