ACT for Mental Health (San Jose)

ACT provides counseling, assessments, and mental health services to anyone in need. Current volunteer opportunities include: bookkeeping, grant researchand writing. mental health project coordination, clerical duties, web planning and Implementation, and marketing activities, such as fundraising.

American Youth Soccer Organization (South Bay Region)

The organization provides youth soccer programs that are consistent with the AYSO national philosophy that Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching and Good Sportsmanship, for players from 4 to 18 years of age. We serve the communities of San Jose, Cupertino, Saratoga, Campbell and Santa Clara. Become a team manager, referee, coach or assistant coach experience is not necessary.

Eastern European Service Agency (San Jose)

This organization ddresses the needs of immigrants and refugees from the former Yugoslavia and Eastern Europe by providing social services, mental health, parent education and guidance, early childhood and youth services, referrals, ESL classes and translation services that are provided in Bosnian, Albanian, Croatian, Serbian, Slovenian, Polish and Russian. They are looking for volunteers with backgrounds in social services, events coordination, bookkeeping business, office administration or information technology.

Parents Helping Parents (San Jose)

PHP is a 33 year old public benefit agency whose mission is to help children and adults with special needs receive the support and services they need to reach their full potential. PHP provides information, training, and resources to build strong families and improve systems of care. Volunteers can work with children between the ages of 8 and 12.

Santa Clara Vanguard (Santa Clara)
The Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps is a world renowned, world champion drum and bugle corps that travels between six and eight weeks each summer throughout the United States and Canada performing in competitive field shows and parades. The Vanguard provides instruction in the areas of brass, percussion and color guard. Volunteers make costumes and props, prepare uniforms, promote the corps, organize celebration events and a local show, and provide support for camps and tour.
Victory Ranch (San Jose)
Victory Ranch works with disadvantaged, underserved, at risk, neglected, abused, and low income youth and programs that use horses to help the youth build self confidence. Areas that need help from volunteers include grant writing, exercising and riding horses and handling the horses.
