Calaveras Repertory Theatre (Milpitas)

Every seat in this intimate theatre has a clear view of the stage so it is first come, first serve with the seating.  They have a large free parking lot.

City Lights Theatre Company (San Jose)

This theatre company is a local nonprofit theatre company, founded in 1982 that produces a season of six plays per year, along with special programs, in an intimate 108 seat venue. The Company is committed to presenting exhilarating, thought provoking plays that speak strongly to its audiences. City Lights encourages the work of local playwrights and is widely regarded as a nurturing space in which many emerging artists have the opportunity to develop their skills alongside seasoned professionals.

Dragon Productions Theatre Company (Palo Alto)

Dragon Theatre is a professional nonprofit live theatre production company started in 2001. They have a very small seating area with fewer than 50 seats for intimacy. There is free street parking after 3 pm and free parking in the Alma and University garage.

Foothill College (Los Altos)

Award winning drama and musicals at reasonable prices. They just cover their expenses to put on the shows and do not make a profit.

Los Altos Stage Company (Los Altos)

The Los Altos Stage Company was founded in June 1995. They have produced more than 60 productions that included hundreds of artists and volunteers with various levels of theatrical experience. This is an intimate theatre.

Lyric Theatre (San Jose)

This theatre focuses on operettas which is a form of a play with music in the form of songs and choruses similar to a Broadway Musical or Opera except the ending of the play is always happy. There is a live orchestra in the pit at the fron of the stage.

Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts (Mountain View)

Performances include drama, musicals, comedy and musical performances. Convenient parking is available free of charge in the Mountain View Civic Center garage located directly under the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. The entrance to the garage is on Mercy Street. Additional parking is available in the adjacent Bryant Street lot and in the parking structure on the corner of Bryant and California streets.

Northside Theatre Company (San Jose)
Northside Theatre Company (NTC) was founded in 1978 by current managing artistic director, Richard Orlando. In 1980, NTC became a registered nonprofit organization. Northside is currently in its 30th season and receives national attention for new play development.
Palo Alto Players (Palo Alto)

Palo Alto Players is the Peninsula’s oldest theatre company established in 1931.  They produce a season of comedies, dramas, classics and musicals from September to June.

Pear Avenue Theatre (Mountain View)

The Pear was created in June 2002 by a group of theatre artists and offers audiences intimate productions.

San Jose Stage Company (San Jose)

This is an intimate off broadway style theater founded in 1983. San Jose Stage Company is a professional theatre company dedicated to producing the works of contemporary playwrights that speak to the conditions, hopes and fears of all mankind. The Company has received national and international critical acclaim for many of its productions.

Santa Clara Players (Santa Clara)

This dramatic arts theatre is a nonprofit community theater group devoted to providing an affordable, quality theatrical experience.

Teatro Vision (San Jose)

Teatro Vision is a Chicano Theatre company that celebrates culture, community and art.

The Stanford Theatre (Palo Alto)

Started in 1925, The Stanford Theatre presents classic Hollywood films in a fully restored theatre. The theatre is managed by The Stanford Theatre Foundation.

The Tabard Theatre Company (San Jose)

Tabard actors, stage, crew, and staff of all ages come from throughout the Bay Area as well as San Jose. Tabard donates a portion of its concession proceeds to nonprofit organizations that are thematically related to the shows and often includes food or clothing drives during its productions.
