City Lights Theatre Company (San Jose)

This theatre company is a local nonprofit theatre company, founded in 1982 that produces a season of six plays per year, along with special programs, in an intimate 108 seat venue. The Company is committed to presenting exhilarating, thought provoking plays that speak strongly to its audiences. City Lights encourages the work of local playwrights and is widely regarded as a nurturing space in which many emerging artists have the opportunity to develop their skills alongside seasoned professionals.

Lyric Theatre (San Jose)

This theatre focuses on operettas which is a form of a play with music in the form of songs and choruses similar to a Broadway Musical or Opera except the ending of the play is always happy. There is a live orchestra in the pit at the fron of the stage.

Northside Theatre Company (San Jose)
Northside Theatre Company (NTC) was founded in 1978 by current managing artistic director, Richard Orlando. In 1980, NTC became a registered nonprofit organization. Northside is currently in its 30th season and receives national attention for new play development.
San Jose Stage Company (San Jose)

This is an intimate off broadway style theater founded in 1983. San Jose Stage Company is a professional theatre company dedicated to producing the works of contemporary playwrights that speak to the conditions, hopes and fears of all mankind. The Company has received national and international critical acclaim for many of its productions.

Teatro Vision is a Chicano Theatre company that celebrates culture, community and art.

The Tabard Theatre Company (San Jose)

Tabard actors, stage, crew, and staff of all ages come from throughout the Bay Area as well as San Jose. Tabard donates a portion of its concession proceeds to nonprofit organizations that are thematically related to the shows and often includes food or clothing drives during its productions.
