Bay Area Older Adults (East Bay Region)

Do you want to help seniors live a longer, higher quality life?  Bay Area Older Adults™ is a charitable 501(c)3  organization with a vision to promote an active and healthy lifestyle for seniors in the Bay Area.  There is strong scientific research providing evidence that regular physical and mental exercise can sustain independent living and lower mortality rates in seniors.  Volunteering opportunities include photography, grant writing, blogging, managing social media, fundraising and software coding.  The CEO will be your mentor and there will be opportunities to learn about what is involved with running a small company.  We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, reliable, organized; has good time management and people skills; and who wants to help the community. 

Engage As You Age (East Bay Region)

Volunteering opportunities include visiting a homebound older adult and sharing your hobbies and expertise with them.  They match you with an older adult of similar interest. 

Friendly Visitors Life Elder Care (Fremont)

Volunteers provide at least two hours per week visits to their senior friend.

Meals on Wheels, Life Elder Care (Fremont)

Volunteers deliver meals to home bound seniors.

Rebuilding Together (East Bay Region)

Rebuilding together rehabilitate the homes of low income homeowners, particularly the elderly and disabled, so that they may live in warmth, safety and independence. There are three different ways to participate: (1) Rebuilding Day Skilled Volunteers need to be skilled in carpentry, flooring, plumbing, electrical and other trades. (2) Rebuilding Day Volunteer with no specific skills but bring a willingness to learn. (3) Committee Volunteers help select the projects, coordinate events and materials, fundraising and recruit volunteers.
