Nova Vista Symphony, in its 52nd concert season, is the largest, long-standing community orchestra in the Santa Clara Valley. Comprised of more than 70 talented, volunteer musicians and led by Maestro Anthony Quartuccio, Nova Vista Symphony endeavors to make live classical music appealing, accessible and affordable to individuals and families, to provide an opportunity for local talented musicians to excel at performing sophisticated orchestral repertoire, to provide a showcase for local soloists and composers, and to educate tomorrow's audiences by exposing youngsters to classical music and the instruments of the orchestra.
The opera was founded in 1984 as a professional opera company dedicated to showcasing and developing emerging opera singers. It is home to resident artists who start their professional career here and are groomed for international careers. Resident artists are encouraged not only to perform leading roles in mainstage productions but also to participate in school and community-wide educational activities.

With the arrival of current conductor Mitchell Sardou Klein, the Peninsula Symphony grew from a grassroots ensemble to a polished 90 plus member orchestra of well trained community musicians. The Peninsula Youth Orchestra was established in the spring of 1997. Performances are at three locations: San Mateo Performing Arts Center, the Fox Theatre in Redwood City, and the Flint Center in Cupertino.

The San Jose Chamber Music Society is dedicated to offering affordable chamber music concerts via Bay Area musicians with national and international stature. Their concert series is located in the historic downtown San Jose performing hall, Le Petit Trianon, an intimate setting with exceptional acoustics. Their programs highlight stylistic diversity with music from the 14th through the 21st centuries. Each event begins with a pre-concert talk forty-five minutes before the concert.
Conductor Barbara Day Turner is founder and music director of the San José Chamber Orchestra, now in its 18th season. Maestra Day Turner has premiered more than 75 new works just with SJCO, conducted close to 100 operas and musical theater pieces, and has become well known for creative and engaging programming.
The San Jose Wind Symphony (SJWS) SJWS started in 1958 and performs six to nine concerts a year all over the Bay Area. Every concert includes contemporary, classical and popular pieces for wind ensemble or symphonic band.

The purpose of the South Bay Guitar Society is to promote classical and related guitar music to people of all cultures, ages, abilities and economic means in the South Bay. They accomplish their mission by the following programs: Four to five ticketed concerts annually, monthly Open Mic events (Espresso Garden and Cafe, San Jose and Harmony Bakery,Palo Alto) and monthly lectures and recitals and Open Stage events (Santa Clara University).

Symphony Silicon Valley Orchestra was founded in 2002. Its artists are nationally recruited with an average performance tenure in San Jose of over 20 years. Led by an exciting roster of distinguished guest conductors on the European model, the Symphony is an anchor tenant of San Joses magnificently restored downtown California Theatre. The Symphony subscription season includes eight program sets of two or three concerts each, plus other programs such as Decembers Carols in the California, and additional concerts by the Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale. Subscription concerts are enhanced by Music Notes lectures before each Saturday and Sunday concert and half hour chamber music programs prior to each Thursday concert.
The California Pops Orchestra is the West Coasts only exclusively Pops orchestra. They have more than 60 musicians, featured singers and artists performing a lively show with selections from the full realm of the popular music repertoire. The music of stage, Broadway, musicals, television, the movies, jazz, rock, light classics, and big band.
West Bay Opera history begins in Vienna in the 1930's, where founder Henry Holt received his training as a concert pianist and conductor. Performances of the West Bay Opera are located in the intimate Palo Alto Lucie Stern Theatre. Tickets for performances are less than one third the cost of similar seats at the San Francisco Opera. Season subscriptions are available and guarantee prime seating for productions.
West Valley Light Opera (WVLOA) was formed in 1964. The object of WVLOA is to promote cultural activity in the area and to provide opportunities for anyone with dramatic aspirations to take part in theatrical productions under the guidance of experienced Play Directors.
