ACT for Mental Health (San Jose)

ACT provides counseling, assessments, and mental health services to anyone in need. Current volunteer opportunities include: bookkeeping, grant researchand writing. mental health project coordination, clerical duties, web planning and Implementation, and marketing activities, such as fundraising.

There are many volunteer options related to help promote healthy lungs such as helping teenagers quit smoking, coordinating asthma camp activites and organizing events like health fairs.

Friendly visitors program is dedicating one hour per week to visiting one senior living in a long term care facility. These visits help reduce the residents feelings of loneliness and improve the quality of their lives.

Health Trust (San Jose)

The goal of the Living Center is to promote the optimum health and well being of people living with HIV/AIDS, and to educate the community about the disease. Living Center volunteers are needed to help lead fun as well as informational workshops to clients. Volunteers are needed to teach workshops on any health and wellness topic.

Hearts and Minds Activity Center (San Jose)

Hearts and Minds Activity Center is the only dementia-specific adult daycare program in Santa Clara County. Caring for loved ones takes a community. Volunteers work with the regular staff during all the activities in which clients are engaged, in both small and large group settings. Volunteers often bring their own talents and interests, like musical performance, to share with our clients.

KP San Jose is a 225 bed hospital staffing over 300 Volunteers. Volunteer services are centered towards customer service and hospitality, complementing the quality of care provided by the staff. Opportunities are available days, evenings, and weekends.

The Center welcomes volunteers who give their time, patience, talent and support to patients and visitors. Volunteers assist with discharging patients, delivering patient records to physicians, greeting visitors and similar activities.
