Featured Activities
Don Edwards Habitat Restoration
Join other BAO members for this FREE social and environmental volunteering event to help restore the wetlands for the vital birds, insects and mammals that live by the bay! Help with raking and mulching to prepare the area for native plants. All activities will be standing up and supplies, tools, snacks and bottled water are provided. At the end of our hard work, we will have an included social lunch. This program is hosted in partnership with Valley Water and San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory.
Redwoods and Wine Day Trip
On this excursion, we will be spending the morning on an expert-led three-mile walk among redwoods and art on a route to a panoramic view. Next we stop for a mouth-watering BBQ lunch. In the afternoon, we visit a Santa Cruz appellation winery to learn about their history and taste their award-winning wines.
The Waterfalls of Morgan Hill
Join us for a hike on shaded trails surrounded by lush green foliage past three waterfalls. Along the way, we cross bridges and pass by ferns and moss-covered rock formations as we walk along a stretch of Uvas and Swanson Creeks. We will look for California Nutmeg, Canyon Live Oak, California Buckeye, and other foliage along the side of the trail. We end the afternoon with a social picnic in our especially reserved group area. This special program is hosted in partnership with Valley Water.
