Roaming Around Alum Rock Park
**Pay upfront and be reimbursed at the end of the walk**. Join us for a relaxing walk past the mineral springs and other historic structures, and along Penitencia Creek. Our hike leader for the day is a former San Jose City Park ranger who will teach us all about this historic park that is home to a diversity of wildlife. After the walk, we will visit the Youth Science Institute to learn and see the rehabilitated birds. We end with a social picnic lunch. This program is supported by the Knight Foundation.
Sustainable Farming And Tannery Tours
On this full day trip, our first adventure is leisurely educational walk at an internationally known sustainable farm where we will learn about the latest research on optimizing food production and learn tips for your garden. We will break for a social lunch by the beach. Next, we will visit the site of an historic tannery and learn about Santa Cruz tanning history and tour working art studios.
